North Ridge Water Treatment Plant

North Ridge water system began in 2002 with one well (5 gallons per minute), for one house, with one 3000 gallon storage tank. Later, three more wells were added.

These small wells were the water supply for North Ridge for about eight years.  The water was very poor quality and quantity causing constant problems with the pumps, piping and household appliances.

After about eight years of politics and negotiations with the City of Lubbock, a lake contract was secured for North Ridge Development/ South Garza Water Supply.

Surface water treatment for potable water (house use) required a significant investment (about two million dollars) by South Garza Water Supply.  This involved two booster pumps behind the Lake Alan Henry Dam, over three miles of raw water pipeline, a surface water treatment plant, buildings, etc…

The TCEQ government rules, requirements, water testing and paper work for surface water are a 100 fold versus well water.

Since around 2010, North Ridge homes have been on Lake Alan Henry lake water.  We have excellent quality water and a water contract with the city of Lubbock that will insure North Ridge Development of having the amount of water it needs for years to come, (Over 165 million gallons annually).  We currently use about 6 to 8 million gallons annually.  North Ridge’s lake water infrastructure has become a huge asset for the North Ridge Development, home owners and lot owners.
